Crow, 10th- Oakland, CA
I wish you could see how much you glimmer how every person finds themselves drawn in by your presence, how you beam, a sunflower amidst a field of roses. I’m not jealous. Of you that is. I’m jealous of anyone who doesn’t feel a tug in their heart whenever they’re with you. Why can’t I stop thinking about how your eyes crinkle, sharp at the edges, and your back bending over slightly every time you wheeze with laughter? Or when you grab my hand. I am so lucky you cannot see my face flush, or my stomach leap out and skip alongside you. After all, I’m just another rose. Comments are closed.
