I Tell Myself I Love You

10/26/2018

by Yaré, 8th (Poetry)
Running like I will never stop
Wind singing to me like the songs of lost souls
Smells of the bay refresh my day
Like coming out of the shower ready to start the day
I love you, I tell myself in front of the mirror
Like as if someone is going to respond
My heart drumming
Like the feet of an elephant running
I stop turn around and feel like I’m falling
A falling that is never ending
Dogs bark as if they are the smelling the fear of someone...or something
I feel a pressure squeezing and pulling my heart
As if death itself is trying to pull my heart out of my chest
I breathe as if I just woke up from death
And tell myself I love you and you will be ok...as always
